Dr. Ehsan Mohammadi

Director, Hi Da Research Lab

Ehsan applies data science and web analytics to social science questions. His research spans scholarly communication, health information, misinformation and disinformation, and how people search for and use information in digital environments.

Professor Mike Thelwall

Mike is a Professor of Data Science at the Information School of the University of Sheffield and a Research Associate at the Oxford Internet Institute. His work focuses on webometrics, altmetrics, and the measurement of scholarly communication online.

Dr. Ting Fung Ma

Ting Fung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina. He develops scalable statistical methods for complex data, including spatial and spatio temporal data, and collaborates on multidisciplinary projects that involve large and dependent datasets.

Dr. Iman Tahamtan

Iman holds a PhD in Communication and Information from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is a UX lecturer at UTK. His research explores research impact, human computer interaction, social media, and digital health.

Valerie Vera

PhD Student, School of Information Science

Valerie is a PhD student in the School of Information Science at the University of South Carolina. She studies how social and structural factors shape interactions with mental health information and how people navigate these factors through emerging information and communication technologies.

Yizhou Cai (Jake)

Jake is a PhD candidate in the Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina. He has experience applying machine learning to financial problems and is interested in advanced statistical applications across information science, finance, economics, and computer science.

Samaneh has a background in computer science, teaching, communication, and research. She is interested in building bridges between computer science and information science and focuses on improving information literacy so that people can better navigate mass information and avoid misleading content.

Taylor is an AI librarian at the College of Charleston. She is interested in the use of artificial intelligence in libraries and information science and how AI tools can support information services and user communities.
