HEAL studies how people search for, evaluate, and use generative AI tools like ChatGPT for health information, and builds the skills to do it critically and ethically, across a lifetime.
HEAL researches how people form trust in AI-generated health answers, then builds the practical skills to search well, evaluate rigorously, and act wisely, skills that hold up as both AI tools and health information keep changing. This project is funded by NIH, Network of the National Library of Medicine (Region 2). The project is led by Ehsan Mohammadi and his team, including Samaneh Borji and Quynh Nguyen from the School of Information Science, alongside researchers from other disciplines, working in partnership with local communities.
